Have you got the doodle bug?

About ten years ago I attended a customer service course, I travelled to Coventry for it and to be honest I didn’t hold out much hope that it would teach me anything I didn’t already know, even though I was quite young at the time.
Much to my delight we were handed objects to keep our attention during the course, including a pretty glitter pen and a pom pom. It was at this course that I learned for the first time that if you are focussing your mind on something while listening to someone speak you are more likely to take in what the person is saying, hence why we had been given props. It was also the first time I was told that doodling is not always done out of boredom but done in a way that helps to focus the mind. I felt relieved at this news, I am a serial doodler and have often wondered (and been wondered at!) what all my doodles mean and why I do it. I do it all the time from being in important meetings, to boring conferences and even in the midst of a pub quiz – which I attend every Monday night!
I have searched the internet to try and find out a definitive meaning for all my doodles but so far I have failed in my task. I am going to use this blog to upload my weekly doodles to see if I can identify a pattern, to see if any one doodle pops up repeatedly and then I am going to search until I find an answer to my question – what does my doodle mean?!
I’m conscious that I might not doodle as sub-consciously now that I have decided to write a blog about it so I think the first few might be a bit more structured than they usually are but we shall see.
Are you a serial doodler? Send your doodles to me and I will upload them for the world to see. E-mail me at dingdangdoodledoo@gmail.com.
